Daniel Ambrose completed three new coastal-themed egg tempera paintings for the 35th Anniversary Gallery Artist Exhibit at Cheryl Newby Gallery on Pawleys Island, South Carolina, open through December 15, 2018. His painting Before I Sleep sold at the opening reception on November 16.

The serene landscape paintings of Florida-based artist Daniel Ambrose capture the environmental treasures unique to the South and are renowned for their extraordinary luminosity and power to evoke a sense of place. Ambrose is a master of the historic medium of egg tempera. His technique incorporates weaving numerous translucent layers of paint into a tapestry of subtle hues, imparting an ethereal luminosity to his paintings.
